Dec. ’12 Free Book!

This month, because of the busyness of the Christmas Season, our FREE BOOK drawing will be held a week from today. That means on Tuesday, December 11, we’ll draw for our December Free Book.

This month’s book is a novel by Olivia Newport – ACCIDENTALLY AMISH. I loved it, and I think you will, too. Olivia Newport weaves in mystery, historical research, suspense and romance. What a great combination!

Accidentally Amish

Condensed from the back cover:

When software creator Annie Friesen needs to protect her intellectual property – and herself – from her scheming partner, she escapes the chaos of her life by hiding with an Amish family.  Soon she feels an unmistakeable attraction to one of the Amish men. What will Annie choose? The high-tech modern life in the city or the humble simplicity of the Amish?

Our give-away copy is a new trade paperback. To quality for the 12-11-12 drawing, please answer this question:

If you had to choose, what would you do? Live the Amish life or  a live a busy modern life in a big city?

  1. Even though I admire the Amish people I could not live their life. Our beliefs are just too different. I know where I’m going when I die. Most if not all Amish claim they won’t know until they die. That alone would keep me away from living Amish. So I would say I would choose to live a busy modern life in a big city.

    Blessings!

  2. I think I would love the amish life EXCEPT for the lack of conveniences that we have become so dependent on; would love the peace and tranquility tho

  3. I would choose to live Amish. I currently live near a large city and I find that the busy lifestyle easily distracts me from pursing my relationship with God, family and friends. It would be a difficult adjustment but I think the benefits would far outweigh any inconveniences.

  4. Modern life in a big city is not for me. Then I’m not sure I could live the Amish life either but I would much prefer the country. Don’t think I could manage without electricity and such while sadly that would be needed for personal vanity. Of all things a curling iron is my favourite tool. Neither am I sure I could handle the hard work but I certainly would enjoy the quilting and would love to learn how to hand quilt. Anne

  5. Since there are so many different Amish communities, I would choose Amish that are more “modern”. You know, ones that have indoor plumbing and such.

  6. I sure admire the Amish people but i could never live there lifestle.! There’s so many wonderful things to do & learn in modern world. Not forgetting the wonderful books that are available but if you lived in Amish community you wouldn’t have access to them! The quilting I would be very interested to learn.

  7. Thanks, everyone, for chiming in. Sue’s question is not a choice most of us even think of making. That’s what makes it fascinating to think that someone like Annie Friesen would seriously consider such a choice.

  8. The peace and tranquility of the Amish life seems wonderful, but the convenience of a modern city are wonderful as well. Both lives have challenges-I would choose to remain in a large, modern city.

  9. I would rather live the modern life. I love reading about the Amish but not sure if I could live there lifestyle.
