Puppy Love/ Welsh Corgi!

As you might expect, the Welsh Corgi was developed in Wales where they were used as cattle drovers. They are a dog of high intelligence, very affectionate and loyal to their owners. The Corgi comes in two varieties: Cardigan and Pembroke. The Cardigan is a little larger and comes in a greater variety of colors than the Pembroke.

I’ve never met a Corgi, at least as far as I can recall. Have you?

Blessings!

  1. I own a dog that is part cardigan corgi and part daschund. She looks more like a corgi. SHe loves being petted and she tries to herd our lab/retriever. I might add, she’s pretty bossy but in a lovable sort of way. Love the pic of the puppy-how cute.

  2. And the Cardigan has a long tail, while the Pembroke’s is barely there… as short as possible. I’m not surprised Penny’s likes to herd her Lab as Corgis originated as farm dogs to guard and herd the cattle.

I knew Joyce Moulton, an all breed dog judge and a much respected breeder of Pembrokes here in Canada under the Texanda kennel prefix. She had some great dogs. Your photos are lovely… especially those sweet puppies!

  3. I love how much you know about dogs, Carol, and I’m so glad you enjoy those puppy photos. I think if everyone could give a puppy a hug each morning, we’d have a much happier world!!
