Puppy Love/ Papillon!

Friends of ours owned a beautiful little Papillon at the same time that our teenage daughter owned a Shih Tzu. We were wondering how the dogs would get along, so we planned to have our friend Bill hold his Papillon and my husband carry our Shih Tzu, Ickabod into our living room for a meeting. However, before this fine plan could be put into place, both dogs wiggled out of their owners’ restraining hands. Ickabod was in our kitchen and the little Papillon in the living room. They took off running and had a fast, face-first collision as they rounded a corner from opposite directions.

They did eventually decide to become friends, and that was largely due to the Papillon who, true to breed, was a happy affectionate little dog. Ickabod, unlike the norm for his breed, had a bantam-rooster kind of personality, but I will say that he was very loyal to his friends, even a Papillon he first met in a head-on collision!

Have you ever owned a Papillon?

Blessings!

Sue

  2. That is the cutest puppy I have ever soon, I have been looking for a companion I am alone often now, so I have been looking for a freebie dog or a small to med. not to much one. I am a good owner mine was stolen so I wasn’t going to get another dog but after my daughter died I need someone with me !

  3. We had a cocker spaniel years ago, Jackie, and he always shed in the spring and the fall, but I’m like you. I love the size because they are small enough to be house dogs yet big enough for a romp in the woods!
