Photo Op
Wow! I’m excited! This coming Thursday (Sept. 16) Rachelle Gardner – super agent with WordServe Literary – will feature one of my “ramblings” as the guest post on her Blog, http://cba-ramblings.blogspot.com/ . The noise you hear is me cheering for joy at such an opportunity.
This past Sunday afternoon, Rachelle emailed a request for a photo or a snapshot that she can use with the post. Oh-oh. I’m not great at having my photo taken. In all our family gatherings, I’m the one behind the camera, or standing on the edge of the group, partially hidden by other heads and bodies. I think my phobia began when I was in the third grade, overweight and embarrassed about it. In high school with my weight finally under control, I met every photo op with the strange hope that my face would somehow morph into a model-quality image. Never happened.
I figured that Rachelle Gardner wouldn’t really want my driver’s license photo, which happened to be the most recent me-only photo in my possession. So my long-suffering husband kindly put up with my cringing, took the camera in hand, and snapped pictures, bless his heart. To our surprise a few weren’t that bad. My eyes were actually open, my mouth was really smiling, and I remembered to hold in my stomach. (Actually, my stomach wasn’t in any of the pictures. It’s a psychological thing).
I hope you will drop by Rachelle Gardner’s blog – not just this Thursday, but every day. Her posts are great, and, if you are a writer or a reader interested in the world of books, agents, and publishers, you will learn much. She also has a quirky sense of humor, so you’ll often find yourself laughing, smiling, enjoying her point of view on life.
Hope to see you there!
Blessings, Sue
