About Anger
About You!
I recently took my father-in-law to his doctor for a check-up. Shortly after Dad was escorted back to the examining rooms, two men also in the waiting room began a political argument that eventually became so intense they were standing nose-to-nose screaming at each other. The argument was still raging after my father-in-law was done with his appointment. We were relieved to escape!
I was raised in a family in which yelling just didn’t happen, so my coping mechanisms aren’t the best when it comes to loud vocal expression. I usually cry when someone is angry with me or even when I’m the one who’s angry. I’m glad for my peaceful childhood, but I’m pretty sure that crying isn’t a great answer to anger. Sometimes you need to vent.
So…About you. How do you vent your anger? Please give me some options for the characters in my novels!
Blessings,
Sue
That’s such a wise way to deal with anger, Jackie. I need to learn from you!
anger.. a difficult one for me. I was raised in a family in which yelling happened all the time, because of that I REALLY dislike yelling, screaming, raising of the voice, I can not bear loud sounds even!
Being angry makes me confused and sad and I just dont know how to deal with it. Therefore I bottle it up and become scatter brained, quiet and withdrawn.
I have learned over time that bottling things up is not very good for me, so when I am angry or over- emotional about things I chat with my husband (whom I believe is wise) and try and resolve issues that cross my path with him.
