About Music
About You!
My brother and his daughter recently visited us from Oregon. We had a great time together, and because they flew here (in a plane, I mean), sometimes they borrowed our car. The next time I would use the car, I’d notice that the radio was tuned to stations that played loud, energetic music.
I usually listen to music in order to relax – classical, easy rock, country love songs, easy listening Christian… Obviously my brother and his daughter listen to increase energy levels, or maybe because they enjoy louder, more exciting music.
So . . . a question for you.
Why do you listen to music?
Blessings!
Sue
(Thank you for helping me compile a data notebook about quirks and preferences. I appreciate the help as I develop characters for my novels!)
I did receive the wildflowers, Trish. Thank you so much. They are gorgeous!
Thanks to everyone for the input on music. I’ve added the info to my data notebook. (Plus I love hearing what you like and don’t like.)
Music is a wonderful way to relax but I dont like loud music even though I have hearing problems. I like the music back in 70 & New Age .. Steel guitar with twang I just love it was always a dream to own one and learn to play it. (Santo & Johnny) are awesome. Sue! did you received your slide show of wildflowers I sent plus few others.

Music lifts my spirits, too, Kathy. I love to play the piano when I’m sad. That seems to move the hurt out of my heart and into the keyboard.
Do you remember when Kenny sang “Peggy Sue” to you at a Pickford talent show and brought down the house?
I love your variety and that Brock has his own name for “cowboy” music! (He’s young to be able to identify types of music.)
Great point, Stacey. Exercise needs very different music than relaxation!
I listen to many genres of music depending on my mood. I exercise to totally different music than I normally enjoy listening to at any other time-loud, inappropriate lyrics, rap, angry, totally out of character for me.
I listen to various types of music, for a variety of reasons! Piano music relaxes me, while older “hard rock” energizes me. (that would be like the 80’s style of rock) 😀
My car has a 6 disc changer in it – right now we have Little People beach songs, Alan Jackson, Chicago, a Praise and Worship disc, an itunes created disc of 80’s music, and I believe Air Supply. Brock’s favorite song is the Na na na na na na song… and he does not like the “cowboy” music!
Sue, there is hardly a minute in my day, that I don’t listen to music. I love many styles of music. Sometimes I sing along w/ southern gospel. Steve & I also enjoy Celtic. But I must admit I am a rock & roll nut, not too loud. It just seems to be light hearted and seems to motivate me !!
Music makes me happy. It lifts my spirit when I’m sad, which has been a lot lately. I love music, all music, except what my son listens to…the popular stuff out there now.
