Sept. ’12 Free Book!
Maybe you’ve seen the advertisements that have recently invaded our newspapers, television prime time, and our computer screens. They go something like this: “When September scrolls up on the calendar, you know that it’s time to start preparing for the holidays.”
I think a lot of us have the same reaction. It goes something like this: ARRGGGHHHH!
After all, most of us are still trying to hang onto the last lovely days of summer. But you have to admit that some things about the holidays are a lot of fun. If the fun part for you includes baking (or even if it doesn’t), you might be interested in one of the classic cookbooks of our time – MARTHA STEWART’S COOKIES. Our September 2012 give-away edition is a brand new large format paperback (heavy duty covers) that includes 175 recipes with ideas for a wide array of fanciful versions.
And guess what? You will qualify for our September 27th drawing if you answer one simple question:

That cookie sounds so good, Jackie! My daughter-in-law’s family is Dutch. I’ll have to ask her if her grandmother ever made that kind of cookie.
I love the Dutch “speculaas” cookies… they are cinnamon based and snap when you take a bite. Living in Ireland I really miss them and stock up on them when I am in Holland for a bit.
Me, too, Amy!
I love chocolate chip oatmeal cookies!!
Oatmeal in all its incarnations is hard to beat, Kathy. When Brian and Neil were in college, for Brian, I sometimes added raisins to half the batch!
