Puppy Love/ Boston Terrier!

As a child,  my mother always had a Boston Terrier.  When I was little, one of her dogs was still living, and every visit to her father – my “Granddaddy” – was also a visit with Rowdy, a rather large and grumpy brindle-and-white Boston Terrier. Rowdy loved to watch television and was particularly engrossed by cowboy shows. In scenes with horses, he would press his nose to the screen and try to bite each horse.

The Boston Terrier is the first breed of dog that originated in the United States. It’s also a fairly “recent” breed, having descended in the late 1800s from a dog named Hooper’s Judge, who was of Bull and Terrier type lineage. His offspring were interbred with French Bulldogs, and eventually became known as Boston Terriers.

Have you ever owned a Boston Terrier?

Blessings! (Check out the puppy pictures below!)

  1. Michelle, Isn’t it fun to have pet stories like that! We had a dog named Furbert. He’s the one we tell stories about…:-)

  2. I’ve been “aunt” to Otis and Xavi and Lily is coming in July. Total characters. We can tell stories about the late Otis, easily, for an hour howling with laughter the entire time!
