March 2015 Free Book!!
Wow, I just finished reading A BROKEN KIND OF BEAUTIFUL, and what a wonderful love story by award-winning author Katie Ganshert! From the back cover:
“Fashion is a fickle industry, a frightening fact for twenty-four-year-old model Ivy Clark. Ten years in and she’s learned a sacred truth–appearance is everything. Nobody cares about her broken past as long as she looks beautiful for the camera. This is the only life Ivy knows — so when it starts to unravel, she’ll do anything to hold on. Even if that means moving to the quaint island town of Greenbrier, South Carolina….If only her tenuous future didn’t rest in the hands of Davis Knight, her mysterious photographer.”
Our give-away copy is a new trade paperback. A BROKEN KIND OF BEAUTIFUL was written for the inspirational market, and the author Katie Ganshert is one of my agency mates! Check out her website and blog at www.KatieGanshert.com.
To be eligible for our Wednesday, March 25 drawing, just answer this question:
Have you ever been a model? If not, do you think you would enjoy that occupation?
(My answer to the questions: Are you kidding? NO and NO! But I LOVED the book!)
Blessings!
Sue
Yes. Yes, I’ve been a model. On the stage at the EUP Fine Arts Center in Detour Village for their October fashion show – three years running. I’ve also been a model for a stressed mother of three young boys trying to juggle hockey, football and basketball practices on one day. I’ve been the model for a middle school math teacher dealing with standardized testing schedules, clueless parents and bickering, hormone-flooded students. But most importantly I’ve been the caregiver model to my life-long sweetheart when this chronic disease called rheumatoid arthritis slowly pecks away at our lives like ducks on a beach of bread crumbs.
Have I ever been a model? Yes I am. I am a model to my daughter’s and nieces. I model to them what a woman should be like and how a mother should be. I am not not will I ever be a professional model but in am happy with me.
Once for my church,I modeled clothes for a fund raiser but it was hard for me to be in the spotlight .
No I have never been a model. I don’t think I would really like being a model because it is not for me. I am blessed to be a wife and a mom of four beautiful children. I have read 2 of Katie’s books and in the middle of reading “The art of losing yourself” and have this book and October Bride on the top of my readers list. I would love to have his book so I can share it with people I love and think it would help inspire.
My answers are “no” and “NO”. Thanks for the chance to win!
No and No – I haven’t read any of Katie’s book yet but have been meaning to. I hope to read this one!
Just in high school when we had to model our outfits we made in home ec. No thanks, not my kind of work. I do wish there were more plus size models for us plus size women.
No, I hav never been a model! And I know I would be good at it!!!!!
No, and No.
I could be a model book reader though. 🙂
No, I haven’t been a model and I wouldn’t want to be one but I am sure I would enjoy winning and reading this book.
no!…would love too read this…sounds great reads
No, but I wanted to be one when I was a teen. I would love to read this book!!
No, but if I were, I would be a Plus size model.
No, I have not taken on the role of model. I have do take on the role of Role Model and try to help those daily where I work.
No way! Like Garfield the Cat, I’m ‘undertall’ and now a tad too…old. Not sure I would have liked the lifestyle, so it’, probably a good thing! And for the lady who said she was too fat etc…I’ve struggled with bad self image most of my life – and still have trouble. Study Psalm 139 – I have and when I gang up on me, sometimes the Holy Spirit reminds me that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, as Scripture says. Don’t let anybody tell you differently!
The only time I modeled was when our church had a fashion show/brunch. It was fun, but I couldn’t imagine doing it for real. Too stressful! I also like to eat chocolate too often 😉
No. I have never been a model. No, I would not enjoy being inspected. 🙂
Never had the desire to be a model and I don’t think I have the body for that! Reading and loving Wishing on Willows, and A Broken Kind of Beautiful is on my to-read list!
No and no, but I’m sure I will love the book, too!
I am NOT model material. My family would tell me that I should have been one. I would LOVE to read A BROKEN KIND OF BEAUTIFUL
I would not like to be a model. Long hours in the winter with summer clothes and long hours in summer with hot winter coats and things.
No, I never had a huge interest but I love reading stories about models! 🙂
No, I’ve never been a model & I probably would never consider it in the future. I don’t like undo attention & it seems modeling can be very self-centered…which I am not…lol!! Your book does sound really good. I think I would enjoy reading it, thanks for the chance to win!

I love the way you put that, Denise. “faint at the sign of scrutiny”!! Free books are fun!
Yes I have been. I loved it.
I could probably never be a model because I faint at the sign of scrutiny. But I would love to read about someone taking courage and doing just that. Free books are always a plus
