December 2015 Free Books!!
This month it’s my pleasure to give away three books to some lucky winner. Novelist Carrie Fancett Pagels writes Christian historical romance novels. Our give-away novels include THE FRUITCAKE CHALLENGE, THE LUMBERJACKS’ BALL, and LILACS FOR JULIANA. The last two are a part of THE CHRISTY LUMBER CAMP SERIES. All three are set in the Straits area of Michigan in 1890 “when the white pines were ‘white gold’ and lumber camps were a way of life.”
Many of Carrie’s heroines dream of owning a business. To have your name included in our Wednesday, December 9 drawing, just answer this question:
If you were to open your own business, what would it be? If you already have a business, what is it?
Blessings,
Sue
Would open a book store or an old fashioned General Store.
JACKIE if you open that store here I will definitely go to it! Sounds like a great place! Blessings!
BARBARA, I love the idea of having a War Prayer or Prayer Warrior room! Our church opened a Prayer Room about a year or so ago. Thanks for coming by!
DELORES, I love that idea of the book store with grandparents doing a reading corner!!!
MAXIE, you are such a sweetie pie! Thanks for coming by! Best wishes on winning for the folks in your Texas church! Blessings and hugs!
KAREN, I’d love to be at an eclectic gourmet restaurant! Especially since my dinner tonight wasn’t exactly too stellar this evening! Thanks for coming by!
Hello Sue. Thanks for having a giveaway for Carrie’s book series. She is such a sweetheart and encourager. And, her books are good. I would love to win her books and give to my Church Library. Then many others can enjoy them. As for a business think it would have to be a small book store with both new and used books. Also with a reading corner to read and drink coffee and tea. Can imagine some good conversations. Thanks for this giveaway. GOD bless both of you ladies. Maxie

I would open a book store that also sells handmade items and bakery items and coffee, hot chocolate, sodas and teas. And I would have a nice fireplace with comfy seats for people to relax and read.
I would open a bookstore and hire grandparents to do a reading corner for kids
JOAN, wow that was an ambition! Just the thought of catering something exhausts me! I’m with you – I’d rather read! Or write! Best wishes!
GAIL, I can totally imagine a cool shop like that in a tourist town that has a year-round draw–maybe Scottsdale, AZ? Thanks for coming by!
DALI, I love that idea! May God bless your ambitions and bring them to fulfillment!
A quilt shop for sure!!!!
When I was younger, I considered having a catering business when I retired. But I retired and my energy and ambition have vanished so I sit and read instead!
I would open a craft consignment shop, and encourage free classes … also a war prayer room.
I have three loves. Yarn for crochet. Books and coffee.
I’d have to figure out how to combine the three!
I would have a not for profit business to help kids that don’t fit the traditional school mode academically or behaviorally. I would help them get their education so they could graduate. I would also get businesses involved to teach them a trade. My hope would be to help them turn their lives around knowing that there are peiple who care about them.
RUTH, my mother made gorgeous quilts. I love quilts. That sounds like a great idea. Have you read those books by Jennifer Chiaverini about the Quilting Cirle?
Angel Bonnie, I can definitely imagine that!!! As much as you love to travel, despite your physical limitations, yes you have that overcoming spirit and love people and that would have been a great profession for you! Who knows–maybe God still has that plan for you!
FRANNIE, I owned my own practice as a psychologist, so I did own a business. I trained long and hard for that profession, but God had other plans for me. I have RA and other forms of arthritis and now I write for Him, as He gives me strength to do!
Well thank you very much, Sue, I love being blessed by a Yooper woman!!! PTL!
DENISE, I just finished listening to a book about a bookstore owner – Karen Kingsbury’s Christmas book The Bridge, which has now been made into a Hallmark movie!!!
I would open a quaint little quilt shop!
I would open a quilt shop, of course!
Love these books!!
I’d probably have a travel agency, and be a tour guide – if I was physically able. I’ve always loved to travel!!
It would have to be a Christian book store for me! No question at all!
If I were to open a business it would be a bookstore, because i love to read and it is something I really enjoy! Thanks for the chance to enter and win some of Carrie books!
You are so welcome, Carrie. I loved reading the books, and it’s fun to share good books with others!!
Sue, I am so TICKLED PINK that you are featuring my books as a giveaway!!! God bless you! My heart is still in Michigan, and especially the straits of Mackinac, which I love! Thank you so much! I hadn’t really thought about how each of the Christys wants to succeed in a specific business. Jo had hope – hope that she would leave the lumber camp but still maintain relationships and she hope her dream of being a baker would come true. I love Ox the best, I am a sucker for a guy with incredible talent as a wood craftsman! Ox wants to build functional art – cabinets and woodwork that are beautiful but he has a secret that God needs to help him with – he’s felt unworthy because of what happened long ago. And Moose, or the Quiet Man, just wants to continue on his father’s business as the leader or boss of the camp. He’s a funny one because he needs to overcome some differences that I am not really sure he’s aware of! Merry Christmas!
With my love of books, it would definitely be a book store. Thanks for the chance to win Carrie’s books.
I would open a eclectic gourmet restaurant…… (with all the trimmings.)
