Small Joys–Indoor Lighting
Each year in February, I’m afflicted with a strong case of the dreaded Garden-Longing. However, I live in a part of the country where you can’t put tender plants into the ground at least until the end of May. Even then, you’re risking a total frost kill, and I’ve had it happen.
Last year I tried an experiment. I bought grow lights and started seeds. Some didn’t make it, and some didn’t grow hardy–ever, but it was a wonderful healing experience to have plants growing in February. This year, I’ve begun lettuce, which we eat as it grows, but I’ve also started some lupines. They’re spindly, so any advice you have is very welcome!
Another lovely small joy! Hooray for green!
