May 2021 FREE BOOKS!

This month we’re giving away two wonderful books. Perhaps you remember someone reading them to you as a child, or maybe you read them to your children.

To have your name included in our Wednesday, May 26 drawing, just answer this question. Did anyone read to you or tell you stories when you were a child?

Happy Reading!

Sue

  3. I can not remember anyone reading to me. I know my mother was very busy taking care of three children, alone for a few years.

  4. I don’t remember being read to while growing up unfortunately. I did however read to my daughter her favorite Dr. Seuss book Fox in Sock. She would say faster faster as I read it. She is now in her 30s and we will read it to each other as fast as we can laughing

  5. The first book I read aloud to my Frampa was green eggs and ham. I had forgotten about it till I looked at this page. Thank you for reminding me. I think my twin niece and nephew should learn of such wonderful worlds. Thank you so much

  6. My first memory about being read to, Haely, was that my Jack and the Beanstalk book was scary! I asked my mother not to read it anymore and when she asked me why, I replied, “I don’t like the sump, sump, sump.” Evidently, Mom added sound effects when the giant came after Jack– “Thump, Thump, Thump.” hahahah

  7. Perhaps, then, you were read to. Most people who enjoy reading were. I love that you sneaked a flashlight to bed with you!

  8. I don’t remember ever being read to. I do remember, at a very young age, sneaking a flashlight to bed so I could read under the covers after we were sent to bed! 😁

  9. I’m sure I was read to as a child, though I don’t really remember. I have always loved reading. 😊

  10. Thank you for sharing, Cathy. How wonderful that you read to your children! And what a delight that they became early readers. I agree that Dr. Seuss books are a wonderful choice for graduates!!

  11. Sadly, I don’t really remember anyone reading to me. Maybe because I’m old! πŸ˜‰ BUT! I read to my children and grandchildren so much that our daughters could read before kindergarten! Amanda’s kindergarten teacher came to me and said “Cathy, why didn’t you tell me that Amanda (our eldest) could read?” My response was “I didn’t know that she shouldn’t be able to read!” I still love to read (and read aloud) to this day, although sometimes it slips behind the daily tasks that must be done.
p.s. Dr. Seuss books are a favorite and an excellent choice for Graduates!
