FAIRITY
Wild Word Friday!
My husband and I had a great time last weekend with our friends, Karen and Dave. During one of our conversations, Karen, the mom of four kids, mentioned her favorite word – actually a word she had made up – FAIRITY.
When her children were teenagers and happened to complain about the unfairness of life’s circumstances, Karen would comment with a melodramatic sigh, “There is no FAIRITY in life!”
I love that word. The next time I start whining, I’m going to remind myself that I really do have a wonderful life even though I must trudge through times when FAIRITY is definitely lacking.
Do you have any favorite words – made up or otherwise?
(By the way, Karen gave me permission to blog about her special word.)
Blessings, Sue
Sometimes made-up words are the very best!
And to think Sara Palin was so chastised for her making up of words…CC
Oh, I love that word!!! The sound of it is almost visual.
I like made up words! Fairity is a good one. It has a nice ring to it!!
A favourite word of mine is rutch –“The blanket rutched up around his face.” It’s actually a word that many Lunenburgers would know. Upon being accused of making up words by my son-in-law, I prompty found the word in “The South Shore Phrase Book,” photocopied the page, highlighted the word and its meaning and mailed it off to him. I failed to receive a response. LOL!
Yes, Dora. Personally, I think ground hogs are pretty unreliable!
The ground. Hog said we’re going to have an early spring. I don’t know what ground hog they asked but I’m pretty sure it was lieing
