October 2024 FREE BOOKS!!
We’re having a fun time this month giving away four fabulous books to one lucky winner!
Left to right: WINSOME WINTERS by Mary B. Knapp, Mary delights readers with wonderful stories about her life as a north country kid in the 1940s and early 1950s. MAKE IT GO IN THE SNOW by Larry Jorgensen is a history of snowmobiles filled with fabulous historical (and many rare) photographs of early snowmobiles. Much of the book is set in Michigan and Wisconsin. LAKE SUPERIOR TALES by gifted author Mikel B. Classen is filled with humorous and adventurous stories set in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. IT TAKES A FOREST TO RAISE A TREE by Amy Klco (pronounced Kelso) is a lovely fantasy (“autobiography of a tree”) filled with fancy, fun, and facts.
All books are new copies. LAKE SUPERIOR TALES is a hardcover and signed by the author. The other books are trade paperbacks. IT TAKES A FOREST is also signed by the author.
If you would like your name included in our Wednesday, October 23 drawing, just answer this question: Have you ever ridden a snowmobile?
Happy Reading!!
Yes, once! I fell off, but climbed right back on!
Yes, years ago when I lived in Alaska. Loved it.
Yes, my brother let us ride his in our field. This was the late 60’s, I was probably 14. I let my little sister drive it.(she is six years younger) Apparently she couldn’t hear me yelling at her to turn the handles and she drove it into a rock. That was the end of that!
No, but I’ve skated on a frozen mud puddle!
Even though we once had a sports shop and sold snowmobiles, Ruth, it’s been many a year since I had a ride. They are fun, but I’d rather ride horses!!
Yes, we had a snowmobile when I was a kid. Lots of fun!
Absolutely!
No, I’ve never been on a snowmobile, though I’d like to try it someday!
