March 2016 FREE BOOK!
What a privilege is mine to give away a book written by my aunt, Ruth McHaney Danner. Ruth is one of my father’s sisters, and we always joke about our aunt/niece relationship — because, although I’m the niece, I’m older than “Aunt Ruth.”
Ruth’s book, MAKING A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE ONE QUILT AT A TIME, is filled with inspiring stories about quilters who have touched lives through their art. Ruth, a gifted and award-winning quilter, is the perfect author for this book. Totally written from the heart, these stories will touch your heart, I’m sure!
To the lucky winner of this book, will also go a kit for a 12 x 12 quilt wall hanging, “Dresden Delight.”
(Frame and backing fabric not included in kit.)
To have your name placed in our Wednesday, March 23 drawing. Just answer this question:
Have you ever made a quilt?
Blessings!
Sue
No because my sister and mother made them for me.
No, I wish I had.
Yes for my grandson,
Yes but need to learn lots.
Yes, Five or more, wish I had time for more.
Not with any success, so far. I’ve made a blanket for my dog that I called the “too hip to be square doggie blanket” it was a mess.
only tiny ones, still have plans to “one day”
Yes. I have. Just finished one
No I haven’t made quilt but sure admire the lovely work of so many that I have seen.
I never have on my own. I have 2 beautiful Grand Daughters (twins) that I want to make quilts for.
yes, many and gave away many, love to quilt and sew!
I made one for my oldest boys when they got married. One was from old clothing although I’m not a quilter of skill.
Yes! They are such wonderful gifts to give and receive. I treasure my Grandmother’s art from the Depression Era the most. 🙂
I’ve only made a couple of wall hangings.
Had not sewn in years. Decided one day that I was going to start quilting. My first project was a queen size quilt for my bed made from a design I found in a quilting book from an antique store. The book had all kinds of handwritten notes from what was probably a seasoned quilter.I have since made numerous quilts of various sizes.
I’ve made 100’s, and give many away to charity. In fact I’m mentioned in the book
How wonderful that you join us here, Gwen! Congrats on being a part of Ruth’s book!!
OH my goodness, Judy, you do so many interesting things!! I’ve never made a quilt, but I surely do admire people who have!!
How did I miss this one! *sigh*
I made somewhere between 3-4 dozen quilts, some doll size; most are lap quilts for family members. Now my focus is on writing so … whatever am I going to do with the LOADS of gorgeous fabric I have stashed away!
Congratulations to the winner of this book and quilt kit.
I keep learning new things about you, Lynn. One of my most precious possessions is a doll quilt my grandma gave me!!
