UPPAA

UPPAA – What’s that?

If you are familiar with Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, you might have a head start on this acronym.  UP – Upper Peninsula.  PAA – Publishers and Authors Association.  This is a great organization and isn’t limited to “Yooper” members only.  (Yoopers are people who live in the Upper Peninsula.)  If you have reason to be interested in the area, and you are a writer or a publisher, please consider joining us.

The UPPAA produces a newsletter full of information from writers, from publishers and about the writing/publishing scene.  It’s a great way to connect to some really wonderful people and maybe even open doors to publication.  Yearly membership is $20 for individuals and $30 for families.

This year’s fall meeting will be held on Saturday, October 2 (coming up quickly!), 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Peter White Public Library in Marquette, Michigan.  The morning will feature discussions about marketing, blogs, ebook publishing and social networking.  The keynote speaker for the afternoon session is Stacey Wiley of Globe Printing.  She specializes in helping self-published authors with layout design and printing.

If you are interested in joining the UPPAA, please drop in at www.uppaa.org/join.

Blessings, Sue
