SKELETONS…

This year, one of  my Christmas gifts from my son and daughter-in-law was the book SKELETONS ON THE ZAHARA by Dean King.  I’ve almost finished it.  What a great read!!

ZAHARA is the true story of twelve American sailors who were shipwreacked off the coast of Africa in 1815 and taken as slaves by desert nomads.  Wow!  I don’t think I could have survived for one day under the conditions they lived in for months and months.  Eventually 7 of the 12 were rescued.  If you are looking for a book to carry you away (even to a desert!), this is a great choice.  Don’t get discouraged by the first couple of chapters, which set you in time and place.  After that you just can’t put this book down!

Happy Reading and lots of Blessings!  Sue

Q4U:  Did you receive any great books during the holidays?

  1. I received “Larousse Gastronomique” first english edition from 1961! (it smells old, nice old).
Not really a book for casual reading but a must have for foodies like me.
