NOSEGAY
Wild Word Friday!
Today’s wild word was suggested by my friend Jane. In a previous Wild Word Friday post, Jane mentioned that her son was reading a book to his baby daughter and came across a word he’d never seen before – NOSEGAY. He called Jane for a definition, and she told him that it was a small bouquet.
NOSEGAY: a bouquet that makes your nose happy!
So in NOSEGAY we have a word that we use as a noun, but that also functions in a descriptive sense almost like an adjective and in some ways also seems like a verb. Ah, versatility!
Q4U: I can’t think of any other word that works this way. Can you?
