About November
About You!
November is one of those months that I both love and dread. I love that November (in the US anyway) means Thanksgiving, the beginning of holiday celebrations, a time that reminds us to be grateful.
I dread that the days are short and often gray, that the trees are bare and that November can’t quite decide whether to be winter or fall. Since I’ve lived most of my life in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, I’m ready for snow by November 15 and tired of brown grass and cold wet winds, but I try very hard to be so very grateful about a warm home, adequate food and clothing and the warm smiles of my family and friends.
How about you? Are you a fan of November?
Grateful for Blessings!
Sue
I’m glad we do have that Thanksgiving holiday in November. January here is often sunny and blue-skied and very, very cold.
Yes, October weather can be absolutely invigorating! And all those apples in all the stores – so many choices! (Fruit choices aren’t something we often see here in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Much appreciated!)
I am more a fan of October than November because we spend the holidays alone now–especially with our move. I love the crisper air though and the decorations! And yes I love the meal on Thanksgiving Day!
I think November and January are my least favorite months, so much rain and strong winds, not really winter yet. Weather does affect my mood sometimes and all that rain and wind does not help to keep the spirits high. Not that I am complaining because there are indeed so many things to be grateful for. Here in Ireland, or in Holland for that matter, there are no celebrations to look forward too in November.
