About Buying Gifts
At Christmas, my husband usually waits until the last minute to buy gifts. This year, however, he surprised me totally with a beautiful electric piano. Talk about dreams come true! I received my gift early because he didn’t want to pick out the piano by himself, and I was delighted to add my comments and opinions.
He received his present early, too. I’d bought him a violin base, you know, like the one Paul McCartney plays. (Only a lot less expensive.) Anyway, I was going to save his for an under-the-tree surprise, but it came in a badly damaged box and I was afraid the instrument might have been damaged in shipment, too. I don’t play the base, so had no idea even how to plug it in to the amp, let alone tell if there was internal damage, so I gave it to him as an early gift, figuring we’d have time to ship it back and receive another by Christmas if it was defective.
It was fine. He was overjoyed and surprised. And I’m glad that this year we were both early shoppers!
Do you buy your gifts at the last minute or are you an early shopper?
Blessings!

Europe? Wonderful! We did a video call with our daughter in Alberta using one daughter’s phone .. however that works! 🙂
I’m so glad you had your son’s family with you.
We did have a beautiful Christmas, Lynn, and one of the best things of all was our son’s family here with us and a Christmas morning Skype call with our daughter in Europe!
I hope you had a very wonderful Christmas, Sue. By what you said here I think it was a special time.
I usually try to finish my shopping ‘early’, but this year I had to since my time for shopping is now so limited. Even all my long distance gifts got mailed on time! That feels good. 🙂
I’m an early shopper. I like to have everything wrapped and ready early so I can enjoy the days closer to Christmas doing things with family and not stressing over the things that need to be done. Of course, since I retired I am able to actually make this happen more easily 🙂
Sue it’s amazing how much we plan our shopping for Xmas there’s always aleast couple last minute gifts we need to buy. Your musical instrument for Neil was good choice as I always liked the look of Paul McCarty’s violin base. Someone was sure looking after the instrument as it was only the box that was damaged. How lucky you were. The electric piano wow what a fantastic gift.
