About Cookies

I just received a catalog that is full of nothing but beautiful, colorful cookies. I might love to cook, but I’m not a good cookie maker. My cookies are never uniform, I can’t get them off the pan without breaking a few, and I almost always burn the last batch.

But looking at this catalog gives me inspiration. Maybe this year my Christmas cookies will turn out to be perfect! (Or at least edible.)

So, about you – what’s your favorite kind of cookie?

Blessings!

Sue

  1. I am just the opposite, Sue!! I don’t like cooking (but do it when I have to) ………..but I LOVE to bake!! Luckily for me, Bill likes to cook and is a good cook, so he makes most of our main meals. I do help out with the extras and always with the baking. I am not baking for Christmas this year as I have lost a lot of weight and don’t want to tempt myself. But I am finding that I am missing the actual baking process as much as I miss eating the baked goodies!!

  2. My favourite cookie would have to be short bread from Scotland. Sue I’m no good at making biscuits either, cakes no problem. Have you made the Custard Powder sponge yet?

  3. I wish I could say I baked those cookies, Carol, but I’m the worst cookie maker in the history of the world!!
I absolutely love iced sugar cookies, but those peanut butter snowballs sound wonderful, too!

  4. Oh, my! That chocolate drizzled one jumped right out at me. 🙂 I used to make a great assortment of cookies and squares for Christmas entertaining, but then ended up eating stale leftovers for weeks afterwards. Now I focus on just a few family favourites and they’re gobbled up promptly. Traditional iced sugar cookies, while simple fare, seem to be liked by everyone, and “Melting Moments” — bits of shortbread-style dough baked and put together with dabs of icing, and “Peanut butter Snowballs” rolled in cocoanut… those are the ones requested every year.
