November ’12 Free Book!

Our Give-Away book for November 2012 is WILDFLOWERS FROM WINTER by Katie Ganshert. Katie is one of my agency-mates, and I’m excited to be able to offer her book this month! Our edition is a new trade paperback.

Wildflowers from Winter

From the back cover: “A young architect at a prestigious Chicago firm, Bethany Quinn has built a life far removed form her trailer-park dwelling teen years — until an interruption from her estranged mother reveals that tragedy has struck in her hometown. A reluctant Bethany is called back to rural Iowa.

“Determined to pay her respects while avoiding any emotional entanglements, she vows not to stay long. The unexpected inheritance of 500 acres of farmland and a startling turn of events in Chicago forces Bethany to come up with a new plan.

“Handsome farmhand Evan Price has taken care of the Quinn farm for years. When Bethany is left the land, Evan must fight her decisions to realize his own dreams. but even as he disagrees with Bethany’s vision, Evan feels drawn to her and the pain she keeps so carefully locked away.”

QUESTION FOR YOU: In WILDFLOWERS FROM WINTER, Bethany inherits 500 acres of farmland. She’s not exactly overjoyed. To be included in our Wednesday, November 28 drawing for a free copy of WILDFLOWERS IN WINTER, please answer this question: If you received your dream inheritance (From a distant relative you didn’t know!), what would that dream inheritance be?

Warning: Your answers may be fodder for a future novel!

  1. That’s really a great question! I’m not sure what to say. I’m really satisfied with what I have now. When my grandma passed last year, I was completely happy to inherit her trunk, 100 year old Bible, and quilts her mother made.

  2. Oh Amy, what a perfect answer! One of my great treasures is a small and lovely quilt my grandmother Kate made for my doll when I was a little girl.

  3. It would be a nice spread of land with a lovely log cabin on it. The log cabin would have a wrap around porch with a couple swings and places to sit, enjoy the morning or evening sunset and sunrise (since the porch wraps all the way around) or to just relax during the day. It would have enough rooms to have guests come and stay and or get away from their own troubles for a spell. My husband and I host a yearly conference called “The Refuge Conference.” After three years of hosting many of the families in my home I nicknamed our house “The Refuge Inn” with the explanation, “a place to get away and let the Lord renew and restore you.” I would call my cabin that too!! I’d want plenty of land for my kids to roam, ride quads, build forts, fish in a stream, camp out, etc…a place they can fall in love with all the beauty that surrounds us and learn a deep appreciation for all the Lord has truly taken the time to create for our pleasure. Close enough to town to still be able to touch the world around us but also far enough away to have special family time and alone time. A place that emanates a sense of family, love and hope.

  4. Wow! I hate to be predictable but a large sum of money would be wonderful. Enough to not care if our house doesn’t sell at a profit (it needs to go away from US!), give small gifts to our children and allow my husband to find a job that isn’t so hard on his body! We also have several missionary families we’d love to encourage monetarily.
