Puppy Love/ Bishon Frise!

A descendent of a cross between the Water Spaniel and Standard Poodle, the Bichon Frise is a merry little dog that originated in the Mediterranean area. Because of their pleasing personalities, they were kept as lap dogs by Spanish sailors, even when they were at sea, and, when litters arrived, the sweet little puppies were sometimes used as barter. Some historians believe that the Bison Frise was introduced to the Canary Islands by Spanish seamen, and “discovered” there in the 1300s by Italian sailors who reintroduced them to continental Europe.

Whatever their varied history, if you’ve ever known a Bichon Frise, you have to admit that they are sweet little dogs and very cute.

Have you ever been the friend of a Bishon Frise?

Blessings!

Sue

  1. I had a bishon-frise her name was Mia and she was only 9 years old and 3 weeks ago I had to put her down. She had stomach cancer,I miss her a lot.I would like to know how much are your female puppies (bishon -frise),and where are you located.I hope to hear from you soon.

  2. Lia, I don’t raise these dogs. I just feature them on my blog, Puppy Love. I’m a novelist, and the novels I’m currently writing all include a dog as one of the “characters.” I’m hoping to see these novels published during this next year. Good luck on your quest for another bishon-frise, and my condolences on the loss of Mia. It’s so difficult to lose a beloved pet.
