Okay, I know that my whole week was not about Creme Brulee, and we had many other highlights as my husband and I took off for two days to participate in a U.P. Book Tour event at the Erickson Center for the Arts in Curtis, Michigan. But the Creme Brulee did get your attention, right?
Erickson Center
The events of the U.P. (Upper Peninsula) Book Tour are sponsored by various groups and organizations, including Wayne State University Press, to celebrate the publication of The Way North, an anthology of poems and stories by authors who live in or have a connection to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I’m delighted to have my short slice-of-life story “Una Corda” included in the book.
The authors who participated in the Erickson Center readings were (besides me), Marty Achatz and Jen Howard. We had a great time and are grateful to the Erickson Center for sponsoring this event! After the readings Neil and I enjoyed a tour of the basement of the Center where many beautiful paintings and various artworks are available for sale. I bought a gorgeous gift for a wedding shower. I can’t wait to give it to the bride! Our evening was complete when we retreated to our home-away-from-home at the Chamberlin’s Ole Forest Inn and enjoyed the sunset with a delectable creme brulee on the Inn’s front porch. What a perfect ending to a wonderful day.
Thank you so much to everyone at the Erickson Center for the Arts, Chamberlin’s Ole Forest Inn and Marty and Jen.
