A Glance Back – Weekend!
Last weekend we took a whirlwind trip down state to see our kids and grandkids. For years, our daughter lived in Europe, and we were fortunate to make a couple of wonderful trips to see her there. During the time she lived in Europe, she had wonderful experiences and made friends that became family for her in Belgium and Greece and other countries, too. But now that she has moved back to Michigan, we feel so blessed to be able to make a quick trip and see her and then spend the night and next morning with our son and his wife and daughters all in one lovely trip. Wow! I always come back home just glowing from spending that time together as a family.
This time we took some furniture down to our daughter and a great big carved bear down to our son and daughter-in-law, and also were able to attend our oldest granddaughter’s soccer game and preview both granddaughter’s Hallowe’en costumes. So much fun!

Meanwhile, Neil’s dad took care of our dog, who always gains a few pounds when he’s at “Grandpa’s” house.

It’s so nice that your daughter is back in Michigan. I recently moved back as well and it’s great being near family. We try to get outside as much as possible on the weekends. We might hike, snowshoe, run, or ski, but we also have to do a lot of our errands on Saturdays, so they’re not always as relaxing as we’d like. I hope this weekend is going well for you!
It’s great to come home, isn’t it, Nicole! I actually love my weeks, because I get to write. Weekend getaways are wonderful but my usual Saturdays involve cleaning at both Dads’ houses, so that’s a lot of work! Once that’s done, though, I do the fun stuff.
