December 2013 Free Book #1

Our first give-away book for December is PERIL from the very talented writer, Jordyn Redwood.PERIL kept me reading late into the night with my heart in my throat!

Peril

From the back cover: “Pediatric nurse Morgan Adams feels like she can’t face life much longer. Her infant daughter is dead, her own kidneys are failing…When a rogue soldier from her husband’s medical trial comes after her, Morgan is almost grateful – until the people she loves come under fire. Now, the pain of her past and the peril of the present may mean an explosive end for them all…”

To  qualify for the Wednesday, December 4 drawing, please leave a comment! Our give-away copy is a new trade paperback.

Question for You: Psychiatrists say that people react in one of 3 ways to frightening situations – fight, flight, or freeze. In which of these ways do you usually react?

Blessings!

  1. My natural response is to fight or take action. I am a mother so I dont have the oppertunity to run away or freeze.

  2. I’m more of a fighter–you’ve got look your fear in the eye and give it a hard shove back!

  3. I’m more like Nancy, Suzanne. I freeze. I wish I was a fighter!! I fight hard once I get time to consider the situation, but that isn’t good when the danger is immediate!

  4. I seem to fight. I find after the crisis passes I made sound decisions but I felt like an unseen force walked me through it ( the Holy Spirit).

  5. I LOVE these responses. As an ER nurse– I guess I’m a born fighter– even when perhaps I should flee.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and Sue– thanks for giving a copy of Peril away.

  6. I think it would be a chain reaction, depending on
The frightening situation,I would fight to protect myself
Run from the situation and freeze when when I start to calm down and relive the fear of what I had just gone through.

  7. I would freeze. Someone tried to break into our house once – I could have run, called for help, looked out the window to see who was – NO – I froze but the person left. My angel was taking care of me.
