Corsets & Lace: Paper dolls?

I began this series of “Corsets & Lace” posts to talk about research, specifically for the novel I’m currently writing set in the Gilded Age of the late 1800s. Well, I just found a new and very fun resource. Take a look:

Yep, paperdolls! I won’t be cutting these out of their books or tabbing on their clothes, but I’ve already spent quite a bit of time studying the authentic clothing drawn for the paperdolls’ various activities. I enjoyed playing with paperdolls as a girl, but I’m enjoying studying paperdolls even more.

Did you ever play with paperdolls as a kid? Probably most guys didn’t, but once in a while, I could convince my brother to paperdolls with me, but I had to play trucks as a payback!
