August 2022 FREE BOOK!
Our Give-Away Book for August 2022 is the award-winning Young Adult novel by Angeline Boulley, FIRE KEEPER’S DAUGHTER. From the cover flap: “…an electrifying thriller layered with a rich exploration of the modern Native experience, a reckoning of current and historical injustices, and a powerful celebration of community.”
Author Angeline Boulley is an enrolled member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and former Director of the Office of Indian Education at the U.S. Department of Education. This is her debut novel, and I hope she writes many more. FIRE KEEPER’S DAUGHTER is a treasure! Although classified as YA novel, it’s a great read for adults, too.
I am a strong believer that everyone should celebrate his or her own ethnicity, that the color of your skin and your heritage is a reason to celebrate “YOU” no matter where your ancestors came from. Like many, my ethnicity is a hodgepodge! My heritage includes Native American (many generations back) and Jewish (also many generations back) but also a smidgen of North African/Middle Eastern, plus Germanic, Celtic, Basque, English, Scandinavian, and Eastern European.
To have your name included in our Wednesday, August 17 drawing just answer this question. What is your ethnic heritage? If you prefer not to share, just state that preference. Your name will also be included in the drawing.
Our give-away book is a new hardcover edition.
Happy Reading,
Sue
