An Evening Out! January 2024
This blog post is a first of what I hope will be a series. Simply entitled, “An Evening Out,” I’ll share fun times I have with people I love. It’s appropriate that my first Evening Out post will be about a joyful evening I shared with my husband Neil.
This Evening Out began with an email from our friend and fellow author Kevin Kuhens, who invited us to a talk he was giving sponsored by the delightful bookstore in Venice, Florida, The Island Bookshop. Venice is a short drive from where we live in Florida, and we couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday evening!
The Island Bookshop hosts Author Events monthly, and Kevin’s event filled the house. Kevin’s career background includes stints with the U.S. Department of Defense, the Office of Naval Intelligence, and NCIS. His novel is a thriller that draws on all the experiences he garnered during his years as a special agent. Once I started reading I couldn’t put that book down!

The Island Bookstore

A packed house at the presentation which was held at the Collectors Gallery and Framery, also one of the stores in the Merchants of Venice where The Island Bookstore is located.
It was a most delightful evening out, and included a seafood dinner at a local restaurant and a fun stop at a Kilwins for fudge and ice cream! Definitely my kind of evening.
