About Cookies
I just received a catalog that is full of nothing but beautiful, colorful cookies. I might love to cook, but I’m not a good cookie maker. My cookies are never uniform, I can’t get them off the pan without breaking a few, and I almost always burn the last batch. But looking at this catalog…

APHAERESIS
Wild Word Friday! When my 92-year-old father-in-law refers to electricity, he says ‘lectricity. The process of dropping an initial syllable when pronouncing a word is so common in human speech that it’s been given a name – APHAERESIS (uh-fur-eh-sus). APHAERESIS – the word – may be totally unfamiliar to us in our everyday speech, but APHAERESIS…
Books I Love/On Becoming A Novelist
ON BECOMING A NOVELIST by John Gardner is an incredible book about the “getting there” process of becoming a novelist. My copy is falling apart at every seam and page, but I still keep it handy for inspiration as I write.
Sue we have some beautiful colour birds over here. Where I live there is a lot of natural bushland so birds are everywhere. Some of the most common one’s around are Magpie, Willie Wag Tails which are just cute. Crows they chop of my Gerbera”s and pull out the pansies!! .Kookaburra’s laugh all the time. Honey eaters just love the pollen. Our Wedge Tail Eagles are found only up in the Kimberley & Pilbra. Other area’s you have blue wrens .
Glad you like it, Trish. Yes, all the MySky photos are Neil’s. He catches some amazing sunsets, most just outside our front door. The birds we see most often are seagulls, American bald eagles (they have white heads), Canadian geese, sandhill cranes, little chickadees, and large Canadian blue jays. We also have quite a variety of wood peckers. How about you, Trish? What birds do you see in most often in your part of Australia?
Wow! Thats just awesome sight. Did Neil take that? Isn’t mother nature wonderful all the beautiful clours we see around us. What type of birds live around you?
Thank you, Eileen!
Beautiful AND Peaceful!
