October 2021 FREE BOOK!!
This summer it was my privilege to sit in on one day of a week-long writers’ workshop run by award-winning author Joseph D. Haske! It’s so seldom that I have the opportunity to talk with other writers, and I loved this short get-away-time in the midst of what was for me a very busy and…
Small Joys – Whimsy
I spend a great deal of time being a serious person. When I do research, when I write, when I speak, I’m fairly serious. Maybe that’s why I love to put a bit of whimsy into my life in various ways, especially in my garden. Our friend Paul made this whimsical woodpecker for us. Isn’t…

Our second February 2014 Free Book is TAKEN FOR ENGLISH, a wonderful Amish romance from Olivia Newport. It’s one of those sweet books you just don’t want to put down. APRON
Wild Word Friday! When I was a little girl, I was a very sloppy eater. I remember my parents having a serious discussion about how to deal with my inability to keep the food on my fork and off my clothes. Admonition, scolding, and shaming just didn’t seem to work, and I truly wanted to…
What a beautiful story about you and your daughter, Jackie. I’m the one who is emotional and honored to be considered a friend by you. Your description of your daughter and her reaction just takes my heart! Thank you, Jackie.
hi Sue,
Today, the last day of the year, we received post, my little 7-year old daughter took the letter out of the mail box and said; it is a letter with a lot of funny looking stamps on it, she read them all ( yes! she can read now
), and saw the letter came ALL the way from the U S A!… she said; it is for you mammy……
We both opened the letter, saw the beautiful card and together read what was written inside, she looked at me with her big innocent eyes and said; that is very nice mammy to have a friend in America.
I felt quite emotional and grateful to know you Sue. Thank you very much.
love,
Jackie and family
