Our mail today included more than bills and ad flyers. I received an advanced reader copy (ARC) of Linda Windsor’s new novel, Thief, from her publisher David C. Cook. They’ve asked me for an endorsement (a blurb)! I can’t wait to read Thief! Linda writes my kind of books – history and intrigue. Thief is set…

Puppy Love/ Chihuahua!
The very smallest breed of dog in the whole world of dogdom is the chihuahua. Named for a state in Mexico, the approximate date of their origin is so ancient that no one is absolutely sure what group of people should lay claim to the breed. From Wikipeidia, “In fact, wheeled dog toys representing both…

July 2024 Free Books Winner!
Congratulations to Mary Cahill, winner of our treasure trove of Gloria Whelan books! Mary, I’ll send the books to you next week! Happy Reading! Sue
Thank you so very much Sue. I’m glad I could lift your spirits for a brief moment.
Oh Jackie, what a beautiful and uplifting thing to share with me. Thank you so much. You are a very special friend, and I think we have a good link, heart to heart, that extends across oceans and languages. I’m so proud of all you do.
o wow! that is very cold.
I send you love today Sue, I know you are sad.
I want to tell you something.
When I first had contact with you I was always nervous to write back because of my grammar and spelling mistakes so I kept my questions/answers as short as I could or I would find a way to use different words but meaning the same thing. It was frustrating.
At one stage I thought: I really should feel more confident about it all since I now live in an English speaking country and don’t have plans to move back to Holland.
So I read more in English, books newspapers etc. , I started to write more and more on social media etc. and am not afraid anymore to make little mistakes.
Sue… you were the catalyst for me to feel more confident in my day to day English problems and I am grateful and thankful.
You have no idea what a freedom it has given me! so much so that I now work side by side with my husband, we have set up a Web and Graphic design studio ! I have to write, read and chat in English ALL the time. I would not be able to that a few years ago. 🙂
Blessings,
Jackie
