Home!

We just returned from a vacation that we’ve been saving for and anticipating during the past two years. We cruised the South Caribbean, visited three new-to-us countries, indulged in gourmet dinners, saw some great musicals, made some wonderful new friends!

And as great as it was to take that vacation, we’re discovering all over again that it’s even more wonderful to be home again. Our own house, our own bed, and all our wonderful “old” friends. I can hardly wait to get up each morning and sit down in front of my computer, to have the opportunity to live in the world of my work-in-progress novel, PRODIGY (working title). I feel so blessed.

I missed “talking” to all of you. Internet reception and minutes were limited on the ship so my time online was too short for anything but needed replies to a few emails. So here I am with my fingers on the keyboard again. Sweet!

Today, when I was walking our dog, I heard the joyous cries of Canadian geese. (It must be spring! ) There’s still ice on the bay, but those geese are home again, and they’re telling us all about the wonderful time they had during those months in the sun, but – hooray! – they’re so happy to be back in their own skies, with their wonderful “old” friends, on the bay they know as home.

Q4U: What do you love about  being home?

Blessings, Sue

  1. There’s no place like home!!! It is my favorite place to be. The cruise sounds fantastic though 🙂 Glad you had a good time and got to enjoy some warm weather.

  2. I know exactly what you mean Sue, I love being away, different scenery, new people, but home is like a soft comfortable blanket.

When coming home after a break I love the first few steps in the house when you see your own colours of the floors and walls and the fireplace, the bookshelves, the kitchen. And oh: we just have the most comfortable mattrass in the world, like floating on a cloud. (its a tempur mattrass, I recomend it to everybody, especially when you suffer from arthritis or muscle disorders, it’s really REALLY good, well worth investing in it).
