Puppy Love/ English Springer Spaniel!

During my lifetime, I’ve been the owner or co-owner of many dogs, but my favorite of all was an English Springer Spaniel named Jack. Jack was  liver and white in color and an absolutely gorgeous dog. Unlike most springers – and I’ve owned several  if you count my childhood – Jack was not very smart. We always said that his wish in life was to be a lap dog, but he was a big springer and so had to settle for being half-way in a lap. I remember once, after we arrived home from one of my book tours, I sat down on the floor to hug him, and he just laid his head against my chest, a sweet and loving ‘hello.’  Fortunately for us, Jack lived a long life (to the age of 14), and we treasured every year.

Springer puppies are about as cute as any puppy can be, full of life and easy to train.  Check out the photos below!

Have you ever owned a springer or a springer mix?

Blessings!

  1. We have two springers. Burl, older and grumpy, and Chuck, happy and sort of ditzy. They are brothers from different litters and are so funny together. Burl thinks he owns me and Chuck is totally Roger’s best buddy.

  2. That reminds me of our 2 springers, Tracy. Jack was my dog for sure and Jack’s father, Rocky, belonged to Neil. He was all mine until the first time Neil took him bird hunting. After that, I was just the lady that filled his food dish!! LOL
