May 2013 Free Book #1

Our first Free Book this month is a great suspense/mystery written by M.K. Gilroy. CUTS LIKE A KNIFE is a well-written edge-of-your-seat kind of read.

Cuts Like a Knife

From the back cover copy: “Kristen Conner goes undercover to catch a serial killer who chooses his victims in the most unlikely of places . . . only to discover that she is his new target.

“Chicago has a new resident: a soulless killer on a decade-long murder spree… From the opening chase that brings Kristen to knifepoint in a dark alley, to the concluding moments when she comes face-to-face with the hauntingly familiar serial killer, CUTS LIKE A KNIFE is loaded with action, suspense, humor and wry introspection through the voice of its irresistible lead character.”

Our give-away copy is a new trade paperback. To qualify for the Wednesday, May 8 drawing just answer this question:

Detective Kristen Conner, the main character, gets herself into all kinds of hot water as the coach of a little kids’ soccer team. Have you ever been a coach or a teacher?

Blessings!

Sue

  1. My experience as a teacher was gained through home educating my children for 12 years, an experience from which I’m sure I gained far more than they did! Now that they are both independent adults, I really miss those days of sharing the couch together to read a good book, but I am also very proud that they are ready to write their own stories!

  2. I have been both a coach and a teacher! I coached volleyball and for six years and was a float teacher during that same time period! I loved volleyball and the girls whom I coached, as well as my students. There is nothing greater than being able to transfer a love you have for something to someone else!

  3. Yes I have been coaching my team at work. For some of them there job was there first work expirience. I love to primote positive leadership.

  4. I taught elementary school for a number of years before my boys were born. First graders are delightful, inquisitive, and funny! I loved my job and my sweet students, even the challenging ones. 🙂

  5. I have been a Sunday School teacher for many years. Kids are delightful to work with and so spontaneous. The parents would be mortified at some of the stories I heard 🙂

  6. Yes, I was my son’s Special Olympics track and field coach for a couple of yrs. If you are ever feeling unloved or down on your “hug quota”, all you need to do is volunteer in the Special Olympics. They are the hugginest bunch of people!!! 🙂

  7. I’ve been both — an elementary school teacher and a softball coach. The latter was a part of my job description one summer when I worked as a playground director for the Vancouver Parks Board. I don’t remember being very knowledgable about the sport at the time, but the kids had fun and that was my primary goal.
