Small Joys–Mowing
Our granddaughter works in an assisted living home. One morning, as she helped an elderly patient dress for day, she realized he was in an exuberant mood. Because of Covid-19 restrictions, she knew he wouldn’t have any visitor’s, so she asked, “And what are you so excited about this morning?”
His answer? “Today they mow the lawn, and I get to watch from my window.”
During this time of cancelled vacations and events and visits, I’ve tried to stay away from throwing myself a pity party. That sweet gentleman’s attitude is certainly a lesson for me in celebrating small joys!
