Valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone! I hope you get in a little celebration, extra chocolate, a movie, maybe a meal out. Yesterday, my husband Neil and I celebrated an early Valentine’s Day with a movie and lots of popcorn.

Today, the 14th, we will celebrate a little differently. Neil’s parents were married on Valentine’s Day 71 years ago. When my mom-in-law was alive, she and my father-in-law always went out on a “date” on Valentine’s Day. Now my husband and I take his dad out for dinner. It’s a bit of a sad day for Dad now, so he enjoys the extra attention as well as the celebration of a marriage that lasted 67 years. Amazing.
