AAARRRGGHHHH!!

Sometimes Life Takes an Unforeseen Twist

(Yes, that’s my husband Neil with a treble hook embedded in his finger, and it wasn’t my fault.)

In 2021, I alerted readers that my new novel would be published in 2022. I mailed out more than 400 custom bookmarks. Many of you received one of those. They’re orange with the name of the novel emblazoned on the front. Unfortunately, a book with that same title was published last fall by a well-known British author. My editor urged me to change the name of my novel to THE MIDWIFE’S TOUCH. (You might recall that the other name was The Midwife’s Secret.)

Early in 2022, my publisher Open Road Integrated Media chose a release date of July 19, 2022! Hooray! I told a lot of people, and I ordered new bookmarks with the new name and the release date.

About a week ago, my publisher decided that an early 2023 release date would be more advantageous for book sales across the United States, Canada, and perhaps even Europe (the English language edition). And that is a very good reason to change the release date.

But dang! I ordered those 500 new bookmarks too soon. All of you still waiting for a new bookmark will receive one. Meanwhile, I’m covering the old release date with with a little white sticker. The bookmarks won’t be quite as professional looking, but as you might note by the photo above, amateur is normal for us! And new bookmarks would cost me another $200…

Thank you for your patience. I will have the bookmarks mailed out in the next week–at least that’s the plan. If you haven’t asked for a bookmark, just message me your address and I’ll add you to my list! (They’re free. For you.)

Happy reading!

Sue
